Persia Piercing: Children and Baby Piercing
Parents are usually filled with some sort of concern or apprehension when it comes to piercing their child’s ears. Some parental figures decide to pierce their baby’s ears soon after they are born and some wait until their child is older. In some cultures, such as Latin and Indian cultures, babies are required to pierce their ears as a sign of prosperity and innocence, aiding in the specific cultures’ traditions and ritual practices. No matter the reasoning behind a child getting their ears pierced, Persia Piercing is able to provide parents and their children with a professional ear-piercing service that is specifically tailored to the individual child or baby. Let’s take a closer look at how the piercing experts at Persia Piercing can make your child’s ear-piercing experience one that they will be able to remember in a positive light for the rest of their lives.

Recommended Age
Parents typically wonder when is the best time to pierce their babies and children. For babies we recommend from 1 month and up as the child will not pull or tug at the piercing. For children, we recommend coming when the child is ready. When your child is ready we will be there to walk you and your child through the process and offer options for the procedure. First, we will ask you, the parental figure, whether you would like for us to either thoroughly explain the piercing procedure to your child or we can quickly pierce your child’s ears, in order to make the process simulate that of getting a quick shot and ultimately making the entire process less painful.
Piercing Procedures For Children
After deciding upon a course of action within the piercing process, we will begin your child’s ear-piercing process using either a specialized piercing 925 earring or an individually wrapped single-use piercing needle. Our experienced piercers will be able to offer you and your child an entirely free consultation, discussing each material that could be used to pierce the ear. In our experience, we have found that most parents prefer for our piercers to use the specialized piercing 925 earring, however, we also have other materials such as 14k gold to use on sensitive ears! We will then pierce your child’s ear using the preferred method that you have chosen, quickly created a hole in their ear. We will then insert the earring into the freshly pierced hole. Persia Piercing only ever uses 925 silver, as this specific material does not contain nickel, leading to less risk of acquiring a nickel allergy and aiding in the reduction of potential infections.
Recovery and Aftercare
The recovery process is quite simple and children’s ear piercings tend to heal rather quickly. However, due to small children still developing their immune systems, piercing aftercare is extremely important for babies and children. After your child gets their ears pierced, you need to be extra careful when changing their clothes or brushing their hair. Avoiding certain substances, such as hairspray, shampoos, and perfumes can aid in keeping your child’s new piercing clean and free from contamination.
