Basic Healing Procedures for Piercings.

Piercings are actually pretty easy. They don't need much. Just some soap, water, and a little TLC. It's definitely easier than taking care of that houseplant sitting in the corner over there

begging for some water...okay, maybe a little more care than that. Let's take a look at the preventative and aftercare measures at Persia Piercing.

Persia Piercing uses a needle rather than a "gun" as a preventative precaution.

The 'gun' exerts pressure to drive the earring through, causing a lot of needless tissue injury. Managing the sterilization of a tool (the gun) with plastic pieces is extremely difficult, With a needle, we have more control over the accuracy and it's completely sterile. It works similarly to a scalpel, cutting a small incision into the tissue while causing minimal harm. It's also a fallacy that the gun is less painful—if a needle piercing is done correctly, the discomfort is minimal.

Maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Persia Piercing recommends that you stay hydrated. A healthy lifesstyle is crucial at any time, but it is particularly important after a piercing. If you do drink, try to cut down or drink less, and if you do, use more pure kinds of alcohol; for example, choosing soju or vodka over a beer can help keep swelling at bay. Try to keep in mind that drinking too much will almost always end in excessive swelling.

Also, avoid causing additional trauma to the piercing site by being mindful of how you sleep, brush your hair, and remove clothing. The most common causes of irritation include bumping, snagging, or sleeping on new piercings.

Basic Care for any piercing is easy....it's mostly just soap and water.

Wash a fresh piercing twice a day with soap and water or a saline solution (not rubbing alcohol).

Rubbing alcohol can dry out a piercing. It works great for the time of the piercing but after that, the piercing should be cleaned with less harsh methods—-plain old soap and water. When the piercing becomes too dry, it splits and can bleed, leaving the wound open. For this reason, Any soap is fine but a bar of soap with an oil base or one that is made for sensitive skin is better. They not only clean the area but also give oils to help the mending tissue soften."

It's best to wash your hands with soap and water before touching your new piercing. With clean fingers, wet the piercing and thoroughly clean the pierced region. After that, give the region a good rinse with warm water.

You can "flip" or "rotate" the earring if it's wet, but only when it's wet.

"If it's wet and you're cleaning it, turn it.  Do not move it if it is dry. That means carefully as you are cleaning the piercing after a shower or on its own in the sink that if the piercing turns a little it is fine.

How will I know that the piercing is almost healed?

It takes two to three months for ear lobes to mend, and three to ten months for other areas to heal. It's healed when it stops hurting, swelling, and secreting fluid, as well as any redness. Usually, right at the end of the process, the site gets very itchy--that is a tell-tell sign that you are almost there.

Do your best to assist in the healing process.

To assist piercings to heal completely, you must have a patient mindset.  Healing takes time

and usually longer than you think 2 to 3 months for basic piercings on the ear and around ten months for other piercings.  Sometimes the simplest solutions are the most effective: To clean, use soap and water, and ice to reduce swelling. You won't have any troubles if you take your aftercare carefully. The other thing to be mindful of is how you sleep at night. This is usually the hardest but most important step in aftercare. Take care to sleep on the side that doesn't have a fresh new piercing. These little things add up a lot and if done carefully create a happy and healthy new piercing.
