For this reason, we steer away from the age-old adage of "get your first piercing with gold" because nickel is commonly added to gold and can be allergenic leading to infection.
Since gold can unknowingly contain gold, for our first ear piercings that we commonly use for children and lobes we use sterling silver. 925 sterling silver, like titanium, silicon, and surgical steel, is also safe to use for people that have nickel allergies.

Our jewelry is waterproof and made to last. While jewelry should be removed when taking a shower or swimming that doesn't always happen. We choose our jewelry that has stones that don't easily fall out and are waterproof. This increases the longevity of the beauty of the piercing.
